The Becklands School (VCare Group) Privacy Information for Children and Young People

Last Updated 10/07/2026

Privacy Information for Different Age Groups

We want all children and young people to understand how we use their information. Because younger children and older young people may need different wording, this document has two
versions. Both explain the same important things in a way that is easier for each age group to understand.

For Children Aged 7–11

At VCare Group, we keep information about you so we can look after you, help you learn, keep you safe and help you do well. We are a care company, school and secure transport provider, so we only use your information to support you and help you have the best possible outcomes.

What information do we keep?

We may keep things like your name, birthday, where you live, who to contact, your school details,
health information, and other important information we need to know so we can help care for you
and keep you safe.

Why do we use it?

• To look after you and help keep you safe.
• To help with your care, school, travel and support.
• To work with the adults and professionals who help you.
• To make our services work properly.
• To follow the law and keep the records we must keep.

Can you ask us questions?

Yes. You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to fix something that is wrong, or tell us if you are worried. Sometimes we may still need to keep or use information to follow the law or to help keep people safe.

Who might we share it with?

We only share your information when we need to. This might be with people at VCare Group, or
with other adults and organisations who help support you, such as social workers, schools, doctors or other health workers, local authorities and people who help keep children safe.

How do we keep it safe?

We work hard to keep your information safe. We have rules, training and secure systems to protect it. Only people who need the information to help care for you or do their job should be able to see it.

For Young People Aged 12–17

At VCare Group, we want you to understand what happens to your information and why. We use
your information to help care for you, support you, keep you safe, help you learn and travel safely, and help you have the best possible outcomes. We are part of care, education, health and social care support, so we only use your information when it is needed to support you properly and help you do well.

What information do we collect?

We may keep information about you such as your name, date of birth, address, contact details,
school details, health information, care and support needs, safeguarding information, and anything important we need to know to help keep you safe and well. If you use our website, we may also
collect some information about the device you use and how you use the site.

Why do we collect your information?

• Look after you, support you and help you stay safe.
• Provide the care, education, transport and other support you need.
• Work with the adults and professionals who help support you.
• Improve our services and make sure they work properly.
• Follow the law and keep the records we need to keep.

Can you change your mind?

Sometimes you can ask us to stop using some of your information, especially if you have agreed to something and then change your mind. But this is not always possible. Sometimes we still need to use or keep information to follow the law or to help keep you or other people safe.

What about more private information?

We use information when we provide care, education, secure transport and other support. This can include health information, support needs, risk information, care records and safeguarding
information. Some of this is very private, so we take extra care with it and only use it when it is
needed to help support you and protect you.

Who do we share your information with?

We only share your information when we need to. This may be with people inside VCare Group, or with other professionals and organisations who help support you, such as social workers, local
authorities, schools, health professionals, safeguarding partners or regulators. We only share what is needed, and only when we are allowed or required to do so.

Your rights

You can ask what information we have about you, ask for a copy of it, ask us to fix information that is wrong, and ask us to stop using some information in some situations. You can also ask questions or tell us if you are worried or unhappy about how we use your information.
